My story

About me

Hi, I'm Laura - a thirty-something mum to a one year old, based near Petersfield in Hampshire. I've spent my career working in recruitment marketing, helping big companies find the best people for their jobs. I have a degree in English Literature and have worked in a range of industries, from discount retail to professional services. Throughout my career to date, I've worked my way from entry level to Associate Director before deciding to go it alone.

How it started

After having my daughter, I realised just how different career choices feel for parents. The type of job we were in before may not be right anymore or fit with the demands of a new lifestyle. Then comes the challenge of finding the time to sit and think about new job options or career changes, let alone all the CV updates, cover letters, job hunting and interview prep! Even with the best of intentions, we all fear the constant juggle and lack of sleep will set us back against the competition.

And that's how LK Careers was born!

Having worked in the employment industry for over a decade and knowing the ins and outs of what employers look for, I am here to put my experience to good use.
